Performs responsible and confidential legal secretarial work for one or more assistant city attorneys. Work is of more than average difficulty and might be in a particular area of emphasis, such as worker's compensation, litigation, pension, real property, contracts, agreements, leases, or bankruptcy; independently performs standardized clerical assignments as well as complex legal related duties. Takes and transcribes dictation and types such legal documents as briefs, complaints, motions, agreements, ordinances, and resolutions; receives and screens all telephone calls; maintains records; related work.

SUGGESTED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High-school graduation, preferably supplemented by secretarial courses, and three (3) years of office and clerical experience with typing and computer skills, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
